1ST Post from Okinawa, Japan

Hello Friends,

Well this is our 1ST post since arriving to Japan. You probably already know that we had a long plane ride that when totaled up was around 17 or 18 hours spent flying. It wasn't bad for me but Angela had a hard time ( it was her first time flying ). The night we arrived I signed into my new unit here on Kadena AFB. Myself and Angela spent all of Friday ( April 3rd ) in-processing into that unit. I have a sponsor here that has been showing us around, so we went off base on Sat. looking for a car and cell phones. I have bought a car but I can't pick it up until I take the driving license test here. We also picked up our cell phones so if anyone ever has a international calling plan or card then you can give us a call sometime. On Mon. Apr 6 we have a housing appointment and hopefully they will offer us a house that day. If they do then we would be moved in a couple of days later. ( We have our fingers crossed ) Right now we are staying at a hotel on the airbase. So far we can tell that the Japanese are very courteous people and that we should like living here.

Sayonara for now

Hey y'all! Mom and Dad told us about the car and cell phones. Be sure to post a pic of your new Lexus! LOL. Do they celebrate Easter in Japan?I'm going to be emailing you the document scans today, like you requested. Those international flights can be a little tough, but it's a good way to get broken in on flying for the 1st time. Glad you have started the integration process. TTYL,
Lee

Glad you guys made it safely and are getting situated. The time change is so weird!!! We are getting ready to go to bed and you guys are about to eat lunch :) Angela should've take a couple of "practice flights" before going on that long flight. I have never flown internationally, but I'm sure that you got a little stir crazy. Talk to you soon!

Hi guys,
I'm glad you are there safe and sound. Right now it is Monday 4:35pm here and where you are it is already Tuesday! That is so crazy! So did you get housing yet? Be sure to send us an e-mail update. Hope you do well on the driving test and we are thinking of you guys! Take care,
Andrea

Hey, So, I finally found your blogspot. Sometimes I can be technology challenged. Ava misses y'all really bad already! She has been getting a picture of y'all and carrying it around the house & saying your names. I'm glad to hear the flight went ok and y'all are getting somewhat situated. Good luck on the driving test! I bet that feels weird to drive on the other side of the road! We Love You Guys! -Kim & Ava
